For our final cake we did ratatouille themed, and it was mostly fondant, and it turned out really good. We started off by making loads of fondant and a batch of icing, then we made the rat and the spoon and all of the little veggies and stored those away. We then move on to cakes and we originally only wanted to do 4 layers, but they ended up too thin and it just wasn't looking how we wanted, so we ended up making 4 more layers for the bottom.

This is our cake we chose a ratatoullie themed cake and did two soup pots stacked on top of each other and used powdered glitter to make the copper look. We made each veggie out of fondant which we made peas, eggplant, carrot, mushroom, broccoli, tomato and cheese.

This is the back of our cake and as you can see it did not turn out amazing.

Conclusion

I think our cake turned out really good overall. A few things we struggled with were, our cakes were very think I was hoping that they would be thicker so that the cake would more look like a big soup pot. Another thing was the back of our cake looked really rough, luckily the back doesn't matter. Another thing is i had trouble smoothing out Remy and his spoon. Lastly at first we were thinking about doing a whole different cake for a day but realized the next day that it wasn't going to work because we didn't have the right tools so we decided to change our cake design. Overall I really enjoyed this assignment and i' m really happy how our cake turned out.
